I n times like these, where the pot of racism has been stirred causing things that were seemingly stuck to the bottom of the pot, life can be like a bitter pill. However, I am thankful that as Christians we can taste and see that the Lord is good. In times like these, where we have seen so many senseless killings, I am thankful I can go to God and pray for our black men and women. In times like these, when some struggle with dementia and can't fully understand this pandemic, I am thankful that God allows them to hold onto their memory that God is Alpha and Omega; the beginning and the end. In times like these, when those who are single, living alone, and unable to freely visit with family and friends, I am thankful for software developers who developed Zoom and FaceTime. In times like these, when some are dealing with the loss of a loved one, and unable to give them a homegoing service with all their family and friends, I am thankful that Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." In times like these, when parents are trying to work and homeschool their children, I am thankful for the stronger bonds between parent and child. In times like these, when we seem to be facing a new normal, I am thankful for every breath I take, and every opportunity I have to worship. In times like these, my sisters and my brothers, we cannot deny reality and we cannot deny the power of the Holy Spirit. In times like these, be encouraged. As God said to Moses, God says to you, "I AM That I AM".
